We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic organization with a strong presence in the Toronto business landscape, actively growing through acquisitions and new initiatives. They are seeking a progressive CPA trainee (CFE passer) who thrives in a fast-paced environment, supporting complex financial activities, and demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong performer, with excellent communication skills and a track record of success.
Key responsibilities and oversight:
• Prepare and review of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and ASPE standards.
• Support public company reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual filings, MD&A, and external audits.
• Manage operational and corporate accounting functions, including compliance with lender and partner reporting.
• Develop and maintain valuation models for assets and assist with budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Research and implement accounting policies, addressing complex accounting issues and financial instruments.
• Contribute to treasury forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to drive process improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with NI-52109 testing for assigned entities.
The Company is offering a strong compensation package including an attractive base salary, and annual performance bonus. Full remuneration details to be disclosed to all candidates under consideration.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• CPA trainee and CFE passer from a large public accounting firm (pre-approved audit pathway)
• Demonstrated expertise in IFRS and ASPE, with experience in reporting for complex companies.
• Strong technical knowledge combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing multiple priorities.
• High level of professionalism, confidence, and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and team members at all levels.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
