Our client is seeking a progressive Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with mining expertise who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments supporting new and ongoing initiatives in a diverse role. Key responsibilities and oversight:
• Lead financial reporting and accounting operations, ensuring IFRS compliance and accuracy.
• Manage complex accounting issues relating to the mining sector – act as subject matter expert.
• Oversee external audit relationships, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements aligned with best practices.
• Support strategic initiatives by providing technical accounting expertise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.
• Prepare public disclosures and other regulatory reporting.
• Mentor members of the finance and accounting team.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
• CPA designation from the public accounting qualification pathway.
• 10-15 years of progressive experience focused on public company audit/reporting.
• Strong technical accounting skills under IFRS (impairment, financial instruments).
• Proven ability to handle complex transactions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to adapt to a collaborative, evolving corporate culture.
• Mining sector audit and/or industry experience required.
