We are recruiting on behalf of a “Top Employer” located in the downtown core. They are currently seeking a progressive Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with 2+ years of managerial experience to join their corporate accounting team, responsible for various operating businesses, and providing leadership on critical projects & initiatives.

Key responsibilities and oversight:
• Lead a dynamic team of professionals including coaching, mentoring and development of CPAs
• Manage the delivery of accounting services including month end, financial and regulatory reporting
• Oversee accounting operations, processes, controls, budgeting, and forecasts for business planning
• Coordination of audits and reviews to ensure high quality standards and best practices
• Develop structures supporting complex accounting needs for joint ventures and service agreements
• Provide support for intercompany reporting, budgeting, planning and forecasting
• Lead various projects as assigned

The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• 6+ years of total work experience including relevant sector experience
• 2+ years leading a team of direct reports, including coaching and development
• Aptitude for technology and optimization of reports
• Ability to balance technical work with strategic thinking and effectively communicating issues
• Strong technical skills including IFRS and US GAAP advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
